When you think user-generated content (UGC), often social media comes to mind.
No doubt, social media is a key source of UGC for brands. But social media isn’t the only source of UGC.
FOX Sports is in the middle of a year-long rolling campaign called FOX WOW 2015.
FOX WOW gives sports fans the opportunity to win tickets to some of 2015’s biggest sporting events by entering monthly competitions.
Powered by Stackla’s Competitions functionality, which is available out of the box, FOX WOW encouraged fans to post their entries on Twitter and Facebook using a competition hashtag.
Entries were aggregated by Stackla and presented in a competition widget on the campaign microsite where sports fans could vote for their favourites.
The response was strong, but the team at FOX Sports felt it was missing the opportunity to engage fans who weren’t social media users.
Enter Stackla GoConnect
Our recently launched GoConnect feature was the perfect solution.
GoConnect allows you to go beyond the social networks to accept direct contributions from your website visitors.
Embedding GoConnect on a page produces a form where visitors can upload images and accept terms and conditions, as well as provide their name, email, and comments.
This data is then aggregated like any other content and can be tagged and moderated for display via the Manage Content screen.
GoConnect allowed FOX Sports to extend the reach of their competition and engage the audience they felt they were missing—and the results were phenomenal.
GoConnect facilitates a 500% spike in competition entries
In the first month after introducing the direct upload method via GoConnect, entries rose by an incredible 500%.
A fantastic result for FOX Sports and a great demonstration of the potential for UGC when you think beyond the social networks.
