When you think user-generated content (UGC), often social media comes to mind.

No doubt, social media is a key source of UGC for brands. But social media isn’t the only source of UGC.

FOX Sports is in the middle of a year-long rolling campaign called FOX WOW 2015.

FOX WOW gives sports fans the opportunity to win tickets to some of 2015’s biggest sporting events by entering monthly competitions.

Powered by Stackla’s Competitions functionality, which is available out of the box, FOX WOW encouraged fans to post their entries on Twitter and Facebook using a competition hashtag.

Entries were aggregated by Stackla and presented in a competition widget on the campaign microsite where sports fans could vote for their favourites.

The response was strong, but the team at FOX Sports felt it was missing the opportunity to engage fans who weren’t social media users.
