Telstra’s #NewPhoneFeeling powers in-store displays with UGC

Telstra used Stackla to run an integrated social / retail activation as part of its national “New Phone Feeling” campaign.

Stackla was used to power a custom Facebook competition tab and in-store social displays.

Telstra wanted to increase the footprint of its nationwide traditional “New Phone Feeling” campaign by extending the campaign to social media.

As part of the campaign, Telstra activated a consumer promotion to give customers the chance to win a Samsung GALAXY S5 phone.

Stackla was at the core of the application that supported the competition, which encouraged customers to submit photos of themselves using the hashtag #NewPhoneFeeling.

Once the entry phase was complete, Telstra selected the top 60 pictures from Telstra’s “Overjoyed,” “Shocked,” and “Crazy Phone Love” categories.

The 21 most creative entries chosen by the public (seven per category) won a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. The customised responsive competition application was hosted on Telstra’s Facebook page within a tab, with users able to enter directly via the application itself or by posting on Twitter and Instagram using the appropriate hashtags.

To drive engagement, customised Stackla widgets were used to aggregate and showcase crowdsourced content on display screens in 250+ stores Australia-wide.
